About Me
Kara Porter is a creative producer working across film, live events, and digital media, focused on bringing structured, intentional storytelling to life. Rooted in representation and inspired by the transformative power of inclusive storytelling, her work centers on organizing and producing stories that reflect culture, movement, and meaningful connection.
Currently pursuing her Master of Science in Television, Radio, and Film at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, she has built a strong foundation in production coordination, creative development, and live event execution. Whether producing on set, managing a stage, or developing concepts in pre-production, she focuses on translating ideas into clear, well-executed productions.
Originally from Sacramento, California, Kara earned her Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications with a concentration in Public Relations and a minor in Dance from Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she played an instrumental role in helping establish the university's Dance Minor program.
Influenced by visionaries like Ryan Coogler, she is drawn to stories that explore identity, heritage, and cultural truth. For Kara, storytelling is more than a craft, it is a means of representation, connection, and impact.
