What Did I Do?
Cliché is a one-minute teaser film for an original song by Syracuse University artist Katie Lee. The concept is simple but very emotionally specific. The song is about a relationship where one person loves the other, but not romantically; and the other person doesn’t handle that rejection well. It explores the guilt, confusion, and emotional fallout that happens when feelings aren’t mutual, even though the connection was real. The contrast between the nostalgic warmth of the footage and the cold stillness of the empty auditorium around her carries the emotional weight of the piece. She looks small in a sea of empty seats, watching a memory while waiting for a text reply.
As one of the producers on this project, my work took place entirely in pre-production. I built the call sheet and assisted the director with the shooting schedule for our one-day shoot, managed all talent release forms, and attended pre-production meetings with the Creative Director, Katie Lee, and the Cinematographer to ensure the logistics lined up with the creative vision. My responsibility was to make sure every detail was handled before the camera rolled so the shoot day could run smoothly without me.
